SaharaSahel promoted Dierkx solar cookers in the region north of Zinder. Step by step the solar cookers have been dispersed throughout the area; some in nomad camps, a few in nomad schools and a number in small villages. One of the solar cookers was given to a woman who decided to lend hers to many people around her. Each person could use it for a while and a motorbike moved the solar cooker around from one place to another. The woman was not able to use her own solar cooker at all. With one of the later transports she happily received a second one. This way she could continue lending her first solar cooker to people interested in solar cooking and she could have  one for her own  family to cook.
